Committee Roles and Responsibilities
The Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority is managed by a Board of Directors, consisting of up to 25 members. The Bylaws require that, in addition to the Board of Directors, two "standing" committees (Administrative and Finance) support staff with daily operations of the organization. "Special" committees may be established by the Board of Directors during a defined term or for a special project on any subject.


Standing Committees

Administrative Committee:
A nine-member Committee that is responsible for the hiring and firing of the President/CEO and controlling distribution of confidential information, such as statistics submitted by prospective new business or negotiations on their relocation. The membership of the Administrative Committee shall consist of two (2) members representing the City, the Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman of the Board, Secretary, Treasurer, and three members selected at-large from the remaining members of the Board of Directors.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for development of the annual budget (with input from the President/CEO). Additionally, the committee reviews the organization's monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including, but not limited to profit and loss statements, balance sheets, checking account statements and any other financial documents.

Special Committees

The following special committees were developed as a result of the organization's Annual Planning Summit held in January 2010 and reflect the focus of the organization moving forward. As the strategic focus of the organization shifts, these committees may be eliminated or extended for an additional year (and/or have new members appointed) and other committees may be added as needed.

New Business Recruitment
Responsibilities include activities regarding recruitment of new business to the Bullhead Region. These activities may include programs like developing recommendations for target audiences and additions to the website, proposal packages, trade show attendance; e-marketing and other initiatives.

Business and Government Affairs:

Responsibilities include monitoring of specific pieces of legislation that may have an impact on the local business community and registering support or opposition to those Bills. Membership consists of memebers of the Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority, as well as members of the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce.

Workforce Development
This Regional committee is responsible for coordinating with local service providers, including Mohave Community College, in establishment of training programs needed by the business community. This committee is also responsible for assistance with coordination of new business job fairs, and continued coordination of regional Education Summits. They work closely with Mohave County's "One-Stop Job Program", and any future public/private work force related programs.

Fund Raising:
Since the Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority is a non-profit organization, a large portion of the annual budget is provided by membership dues and a variety of fund raisers. This committee is responsible for coordination of those efforts.
